Many organizations are seeking to transfer their registrations
to other accredited registrars for many reasons. STR-Registrar,
LLC has a very simple, low cost (or no cost at all) process
for those organizations who are seeking such a change.
STR-R
has established a process for assessing, documenting and processing
requests from organizations who have existing accredited ISO
9001:2000 and/or AS9100 and/or AS9120 quality management systems
and for giving those who have maintained their ISO and/or
AS certificates in good standing, the opportunity to change
registrars without undue financial hardships. In many cases
there is NO upfront cost for conducting a
registration transfer providing that the lapsed time since
the organization's last audit (initial, re-certification or
periodic) has not exceeded six (6) months.
The
reasons for an organization to request the transfer of their
registration may include, but not be limited to, business
and/or financial decision/location of auditors/customer dissatisfaction
or all of the above.
Step
#1
The
first step in the process is simple. Download the STR-Registrar,
LLC Request
For Quote (RFQ) form, complete and return it by either
email or fax to our office. In lieu of the RFQ
you may fill out our Instant
Quote page along with a note that you are transferring
your registration. Regardless of the method you choose, RFQ
or Instant Quote,
please provide a copy of your existing ISO and/or AS Certificate.
Once we receive your request for quotation and certificate,
STR-R administrative personnel will verify that your organization’s
scope of registration is within STR-R Scope of Accreditation
utilizing a formal internal contract review process and verify
that your current ISO and/or AS certificate is an EA, PAC,
IAAC or IAF MLA signatory member certification.
NOTE:
STR-R CANNOT accept non-accredited certificates
under the terms of this transfer process. A full initial system
audit must be performed.
Step
#2
After
we have conducted our contract review, STR-R staff will develop
a confidence that, based on (objective evidence) i.e., review
of the former registrar's certification and/or surveillance
audit reports, review of the certificate of conformity issued
by the former registrar, corrective action, publications,
any complaints, manual review, etc. and/or site visit, ensure
that your organization's quality management system meets all
ISO and/or AS requirements and STR-R registration requirements.
Step
#3
If
the result of the reviews in Step #2 is found to be acceptable,
STR-R will issue a contract to the organization.
STR-R
will not perform an on-site assessment of the organization
when the lapsed time since the organization's last audit (initial,
re-certification or periodic) has not exceeded six (6) months.
If this is the case and all reviews mentioned above are acceptable,
the new organization will be placed into the STR-R surveillance/re-certification
cycle. The STR-R Certificate of Conformity will expire on
the expiration date noted on the previous registrar’s certificate.
If the result of the reviews in Step #2 is found to be unacceptable,
STR-R may request additional information or indicate to the
organization that a site visit is warranted.
Step
#4
If
the next scheduled assessment activity date is surveillance,
STR-R will assess as a minimum the elements of management
review, quality system documentation, internal auditing and
corrective and preventive action. If the next assessment activity
cycle is a recertification assessment, the entire quality
system will be evaluated. |
